Legislative Action Alert - January 25, 2010
Good afternoon friend of the DLC,
Just a quick note to let you know that the Health and Human Services Appropriations Committee will be taking public comment on its recommendations for the coming year's budget around 3 PM this Wednesday in Room 30 of the House Building at the Utah State Capitol Complex. Each person will likely have about 2 minutes. If you would like to speak, please call (801) 326-1671 to sign up.
In addition to emphasizing how important these supports are, you may also wish to highlight how you, your family members, friends, and others in the community are doing your part and how government could help to fill in some of the gaps.
For those of you who would like to become even more involved, the Legislative Coalition for People with Disabilities is holding its first meeting of the session on Monday at 12 PM in the Seagull Room just off the cafeteria in the Senate Building at the Utah State Capitol Complex.
Additionally, the Utah Medicaid Policy Partnership meets on Wednesdays at 12:45 PM in the Olmstead Room, across from the cafeteria in the Senate Building. Finally, do not forget that immediately following the Health and Human Services Appropriations Committee meeting on Wednesday afternoon, the Legislative Coalition for People with Disabilities is holding its reception for legislators in the rotunda of the Capitol. I hope to see you there!
