Overview of Federally Funded Programs
Congress has created distinct statutory programs to address the needs of different populations of persons with disabilities. Each of these programs has an appropriations component which helps to fund the work of the Disability Law Center. The DLC also receives funding from a variety of public and private grants and individuals.
The P&A programs created by Congress are:
- PADD Protection and Advocacy for the Developmentally Disabled
- CAP Client Assistance Program
- PAIMI Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness
- PAIR Protection and Advocacy for Individual Rights
- PAAT Protection and Advocacy for Assistive Technology
- PABSS Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security
- PATBI Protection and Advocacy for People with Traumatic Brain Injury
- PAVA Protection and Advocacy for Voting Accessibility
